JAKARTA - The enthusiasm of the people of West Nusa Tenggara to watch the Asia Talent Cup (ATC) live at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, is quite high.

The photo of residents who were willing to watch from the top of the hill and trees and vehicles in the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit area was also viral after spreading on social media (social media).

"There is quite a lot of enthusiasm from residents who come to watch at ATC," said Head of the NTB Provincial Transportation Service, Moh Faozal, Monday, quoted by Antara.

The high interest of NTB residents to watch the race can also be seen from the flow of vehicle traffic on the Lombok-Mandalika International Airport bypass road which had experienced a long traffic jam during the IATC race at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

"It's crowded with road access from the airport to the Mandalika Circuit," said Central Lombok Police Traffic Unit Head AKP Donny Wira Setiawan in Praya, Central Lombok.

To reduce traffic jams for residents who go to watch the MotoGP Junior racing event at the Mandalika Circuit, his party has implemented a road opening and closing system.

"To anticipate traffic jams, we apply an open and close system," said Donny.

After the road closure system was implemented, traffic flow from the airport to Mandalika has returned to normal and vice versa, from Mandalika to the airport remains smooth.

"This is a sign of the community's economic revival with the existence of a race at the Mandalika Circuit," said Donny.

As is known, the local government together with the organizers provided free tickets for NTB residents to watch the ATC race on condition that they adhered to the COVID-19 health protocol.
