JAKARTA - The Indonesian Anti-Doping Agency (LADI) is speeding up the process of fulfilling the doping test plan so that it can be completed in December. This quick step was taken by LADI to accelerate the release of sanctions imposed by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
Regarding efforts to meet WADA's demands, LADI said that so far the progress of the settlement has been fast. Currently they are working on samples for two categories, namely competition and non-competition tests.
"The doping tests discussed are for 2021-2022, consisting of competitive and non-competitive tests which we are currently working on," said LADI Deputy Chair Reza Maulana to VOI, Thursday, November 11.
Of the two categories being accelerated, LADI said that the competition test category consisted of samples of PON and Peparnas XVI 2021. So far the competition test samples were also running fast and smoothly.
As of last Thursday, LADI has sent 732 PON samples to the laboratory and is just waiting for the results. Meanwhile, for Peparnas XVI 2021, 70 percent of the samples have been taken and will be sent to the laboratory.
For non-competition work, LADI admitted that it is still pursuing the completion of the competition test. They directly target to complete non-competition tests at the end of the year.
"There are still one hundred more competition tests that must be fulfilled by the end of the year. We hope that November is over and when it is finished we will immediately focus on non-competition," he continued.
Previously, it was known that LADI was sanctioned by WADA which resulted in a ban on raising the red and white flag at the 2020 Thomas Cup. To be free from sanctions, LADI must complete the fulfillment of a doping test which is one of 24 pending issues that must be resolved. .
