Ahead Of Next Year's MotoGP Event, Mandalika Ultra T100 Running Competition Held In NTB

JAKARTA - The Governor of West Nusa Tenggara, Zulkieflimansyah welcomed the NTB plan to host The Mandalika Ultra T100 which will be held in early December ahead of the MotoGP event at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit.

"Because this event will bring runners from various regions to foreign countries," he said when receiving The Mandalika Ultra T100 committee, as reported by Antara, Wednesday.

Bang Zul as he is familiarly called said, the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Mandalika has become a magnet for world tourists, especially NTB now has a "Street Circuit" which will hold MotoGP in 2022.

"We are a tourist area, we have to make a lot of good entertainment for visitors, especially our people," said Bang Zul.

The Governor of NTB is optimistic that The Mandalika Ultra T100 activity which will be held in early December will arouse enthusiasm in the NTB tourism sector.

Therefore, he also advised that the implementation of these activities must still pay attention to local wisdom and culture of the local community.

"Because this ultra running sport goes through the beach and rough terrain, including worship for Muslims, so that the "image" of our religious society can remain good and maintained," he said.

The Head of the NTB Tourism Office, Yusron Hadi, welcomed and was ready to fully support the planned The Mandalika Ultra T100 running event.

"This Sport Tourism event will be one of the final warm-up events for 2021, welcoming the MotoGP race in early 2022," he said.

The Mandalika Ultra T100 race will also be held in 2022. So events in NTB will continue without breaking.

Meanwhile, Founder of The Mandalika 100, Hendra Wijaya expressed his appreciation for the support from the Governor of NTB.

Hendra admitted that he had carried out the same activity since 2013 in NTB. One of them is Rinjani Ultra T100.

"This year, we will hold The Mandalika Ultra T100 running competition," said the man who loves running.

He explained, this competition will be followed by runners in the country and abroad. Even runners have registered when it was opened online.

For the start of the race route from Sekotong, it passes through 13 beaches that have never been visited by many people, cliffs, mountains to finish in Mandalika.

The classes that are competed are 5 km, 24 km and 114 km. The kilometer point will be marked with a distance pal, and several places through restaurants, restaurants, mosques and other resting places.

"We are not only holding a competition, but also bringing in tourist visitors but also moving the community's economic sector," he said.
