Erling Haaland's Certainty Has Been Answered To Manchester

JAKARTA - Erling Haaland is scheduled to fly to Manchester today, Friday, December 20. However, coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said his target player was only for the Christmas holidays.

United fans thought they would get an early Christmas present when reports surfaced in Norway on Friday morning. It is said that Salzburg striker Haaland boarded a plane to Manchester with his father who is also a former City midfielder Alf-Inge.

Solskjaer, who coached Haaland at Molde, confirmed his interest in signing the teenage striker. With Salzburg he has scored 28 goals in 22 matches in all competitions this season.

However, when the United boss became aware of Haaland's flight, he made it clear it was not a business matter.

"I don't think he's on his way here (to United), to be honest, (Halland) wasn't coming to me at all," Solskjaer told a news conference.

"I can't comment on the other team's players, I've said that many times. That's just one of them. In this job you get a lot of speculation all the time."

Solskjaer then expanded Haaland's itinerary by adding: "He's not coming to Manchester. I know this kid and I know his friends. He's on Christmas holidays."

"You can't fly anywhere from Stavanger so you have to transit somewhere," he concluded.

Salzburg and Haaland have discussed a move to Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window. But Solskjaer said earlier this week the former team knew what he wanted to do about his future.

So, it's clear. Haaland to Manchester but not to discuss a move to Old Trafford.
