JAKARTA - Marc Marquez will miss this weekend's Algarve Grand Prix in Portugal due to an injury following an accident during practice, the Repsol Honda team announced on Tuesday.
"Last Saturday, Marc Marquez, while preparing for the Algarve Grand Prix with a standard off-road training session, fell, causing a light impact on the head," the team said on its official website, reported Antara.
Marquez has rested a few days after discovering the accident but his condition has not improved.
"Today Marquez has been examined by doctors during a medical check-up to evaluate his current state.
"As a precaution, this weekend Marquez will not appear at the Algarve Grand Prix," the Repsol Honda team said.

Marquez suffered a prolonged injury last year after a crash he suffered in the series opener at Jerez caused a fracture in his right humerus.
The eight-time world champion returns to MotoGP this season starting at the Portuguese Grand Prix in mid-April.
Since his post-injury competitive appearance, Marquez has bagged three wins this season and is sixth in the drivers' standings with a collection of 142 points.
