Debut In Indonesia, After Confirmation Will Enter Malaysia's Automotive Market In Early 2026

JAKARTA - The sub brand from Chery, namely Release, will certainly land in Malaysia, after his global debut in Indonesia at the GIIAS 2025 last July by bringing the ranks of the models.

Quoting from the Paultan page, Sunday, October 19, it is confirmed that the brand (Lepas) will officially be present in Malaysia in the first half of 2026, and has been confirmed by Chery Corporate Malaysia in Wuhu, China.

However, there is no model yet to enter the neighboring country market. But it is predicted that L8 will be the opening to differentiate the SUV brand from Chery, which has been marketed in Malaysia.

As is known, Release has introduced several car models ranging from L8, L6 to L4 to the smallest model. Everything was introduced to the 2025 Shanghai Auto last April.

The VOI team also met with the brand ranks during a visit to Chery's headquarters in Wuhu, last April. At first glance, the proportion to the design has its own character, and what is interesting is the choice of color which is classified as bold.

Not only that, the main focus lies in the unique lamp design and creates an illusion like the eyes, adding to the futuristic impression. The color selection is also bold, reflecting the stylish and modern characters that are the hallmarks of this brand.

Release in Indonesia

After having a strong commitment in the Indonesian automotive market with the local production plan of all its staff that will be marketed. This was confirmed by the Deputy Country Director of Release Indonesia Ricky He.

"Of course in Indonesia, all models from the Chery Group will be assembled locally," he said, when met at the GIIAS event last July.

In addition, the Chinese brand also plans to build a network of dealers as many as 20 until the end of 2025. That way, it can convince customers, especially in terms of full-sale services.
