This Is Wagoneer S, Jeep's First Electric SUV To Be Sold This Year

JAKARTA - Jeep, a well-known automotive brand from the United States (US), recently revealed its first global battery-electric vehicle (BEV) SUV, Wagoneer S. This car offers toughness as well as advanced technology in the electrification segment.

Jeep Brand CEO Antonio Filosa said that the presence of Wagoneer S opens a new page for brands in adventure at the transition to full electrification.

"Building based on innovation and design for almost a century, the world's first vehicle will introduce a Jeep experience to new generation owners and 100% electric-powered in every way," Filosa said on the brand's official website, Friday, May 31.

This car is planned to enter the premium electric vehicle market. This can be seen from its exterior design featuring a charming front facility decorated by a closed seven-line grip.

The aerodynamic surface is clearly visible through the slopes and arch of the engine hood as well as a precision windshield, both angled for performance and optimal efficiency at high speed.

Jeep stated that this large SUV will offer an integrated interior with premium technology, with special attention to the details. Quality materials and features focus on design, including driver control centers tailored to exclusive Selec-Terrain buttons from these brands, as well as dynamic and customizable ambient lighting.

The Wagoneer S is also equipped with a standard double panel panoramic sunset and offers a McIntosh premium audio system with a carefully tuned 19-speaker. In addition, an intuitive 12.3-inch midscreen is also presented.

There are some new details across the interior, including a wine-stained steering wheel inspired by a flat-bottomed and twin-spoke design. It is coated with a new anti-microba vinyl cabo surface, making it easier for users to clean it.

In addition, Wagoneer S is also equipped with 170 safety and security functions. To increase flexibility, Jeep presents over-the-air (OTA) renewal technology to make it easier to update the software system in this SUV.

Talking about its performance, Jeep Wagoneer S is equipped with a powerful electric motor of up to 600 dk and an instant torque of 800 Nm. Thus, this car can run from 0 to 100 km/hour in 3.4 seconds.

Built on the STLA Large platform, the SUV also has a 100 kWh battery so it can run 482 km in single charge. This car charges efficiently from 20 to 80 percent in just 23 minutes using a DC fast charger.

Jeep Wagoneer S will arrive at the United States (US) dealer network starting in the second half of 2024 and will then be expanded to the global market.
