West Java Provincial Government Asks To Involve Automotive Vocational High School Students At The GIIAS Bandung Exhibition

West Java Governor, Bey Machmudin, appreciated the presence of GIIAS Bandung 2023 (doc. West Java Adpim Bureau).

JAKARTA - The presence of GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) Bandung received direct appreciation from the West Java Provincial Government.

At the Road to The 30th GIIAS event in the front yard of Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Saturday, November 18, 2023, the West Java Provincial Government, represented by Governor Bey Machmudin, hopes that the GIIAS Bandung exhibition can be a means of education for the younger generation who are automotive.

Moreover, West Java has several vocational high schools (SMK) majoring in automotive, some of which have started to absorb electric vehicle engines.

"We hope that the GIIAS exhibition will also update the knowledge of young people in the automotive sector so that they do not miss the development of advanced technology very rapidly," said Bey Machmudin in a press statement from the West Java Provincial Government.

Therefore, Bey specifically asked the GIIAS organizers to involve automotive vocational school students in Bandung.

The goal is that students can learn firsthand the technological developments in the automotive sector when the GIIAS exhibition takes place from 22-26 November 2023 at Sudirman Grand Ballroom.

"I hope that later the committee can invite several automotive vocational schools to attend directly to the GIIAS exhibition so that they know how fast the technology is and they can also anticipate developments in automotive technology," he said.

Apart from that, the West Java Provincial Government supports the implementation of GIIAS Bandung 2023. One form of support is to issue a policy of relaxing the name of the first motorized vehicle (BNKB I discount) during the GIIAS implementation.

This support is not without reason. Bey said that the contribution of motor vehicle taxes and transfer duties to the name of motorized vehicles in West Java was the largest regional revenue, namely 44.22 percent of total regional income, and 63.75 percent of the total local revenue.

Bey hopes that the implementation of GIIAS in Bandung will further develop the automotive industry ecosystem in West Java. In addition, motor vehicle sales can increase significantly so that they have a positive impact on the national economy.
