Toyota Prepares Three Electrification Models at IIMS 2026, What Are They?

JAKARTA - PT Toyota Astra Motor is ready to make a splash at the 2026 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) by bringing a number of the latest products including electrification models.

Vice President of PT TAM Henry Tanoto said the product was three electrification models, along with one model from the Gazoo Racing (GR) line.

"This year we will introduce electrification products again, and as a leak at IIMS later we will bring three electrification products and start selling Veloz Hybrid. And there is one GR product at IIMS 2026," he said, during a Toyota media gathering event, in the Jakarta area, Monday, January 26 evening.

Unfortunately, he did not elaborate on what he meant by the electrification product. However, Toyota is also continuing to open opportunities to study various vehicle technologies, including the development of other electrification models in the future.

"We are open to studying all technologies (including PHEV), all models. Toyota, if you understand, actually already know what the pattern is like. We always study the technology that is most suitable for the community," he added.

According to him, if PHEV is indeed one of the good solutions for the community, Toyota will definitely study it seriously.

"But the timing is always a secret. It can suddenly appear," he explained.

As is known, the PHEV segment is quite popular in the Indonesian market. In fact, various manufacturers continue to compete to bring cars in that segment, whether targeting the SUV or MPV segment.
