JAKARTA - Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has announced a recall affecting its two luxury MPVs, the Alphard and Lexus LM, for the Philippine market.

Citing the Autoindustriya website, Thursday, January 22, according to the manufacturer the problem lies in the connection of the rear windshield defroster which may be installed in the wrong position inside the power distribution box.

As a result, the connection can be weak or incomplete, which can cause the de-misting to stop working.

A malfunctioning rear defroster can cause visibility problems in the rear window, especially when foggy or damp in cold conditions.

Toyota Motor Philippines recorded a total of 103 units affected, 89 of which were Alphards produced between December 17 and December 24, 2024, and 14 Lexus LM units produced between December 19, 2024, and December 25, 2024.

Responding to the above, TMP will contact affected customers and will be invited to Lexus and Toyota dealers to replace the PDB at no cost.

However, if customers have not received a notification, they can check if their vehicles are affected through Toyota and Lexus's dedicated web pages related to this issue.
