JAKARTA - BYD recorded a positive performance in November 2025 after global sales increased significantly, as well as covering the pressure that occurred on the domestic market.

The company reported that the total sales of new electric vehicles (NEV) reached 480,186 units, becoming the highest monthly achievement throughout the year.

However, domestic sales decreased by around 5.25 percent compared to last November. This condition is inversely proportional to export performance which is the main support.

BYD managed to send 131,935 vehicles to various countries, up to 325.91 percent on an annual basis. When compared to October, the figure also rose 57.25 percent, indicating their global strategy was effective.

Throughout January to November 2025, BYD's total exports reached 912,911 units, an increase of 153.55 percent compared to the same period the previous year. This growth shows that the company's dependence is getting smaller on the domestic market and increasing BYD revenues in various countries.

Sales movements based on vehicle types also show changing trends. Battery-based electric cars (BEVs) sold 237,540 units in November, an increase of 19.93 percent on an annual basis. On a monthly basis, the figure also rose 6.73 percent.

Meanwhile, the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model recorded a significant decline. BYD sold 237,381 PHEV units, down 22.41 percent compared to last year. This decline has even lasted for eight consecutive months.

Although PHEV sales have increased slightly on a monthly basis, around 10.77 percent compared to October, the declining annual figure indicates a shift in consumer preferences, both inside and outside China.

The transition to BEV is thought to be one of the main reasons. On the other hand, BYD's commercial electric vehicle segment showed strong growth with sales of 5,265 units, an increase of 87.97 percent from last year.

The battery capacity installed for electric vehicles and energy storage also increased to around 27.7 GWh, up 23.13 percent. For the first eleven months of this year, the total battery capacity reached around 258.3 GWh, growing 50.86 percent compared to the previous year.

The increase in exports and sales growth of BEV is an important factor that keeps BYD's performance stable even though domestic sales are weakening. The company is now increasingly seen as a global player who is no longer dependent on China's local market, as well as reflecting the direction of the automotive industry that is increasingly inclined towards full electrification.
