JAKARTA Toyota Indonesia will prepare Veloz Hybrid as the latest export model for the Southeast Asian region after its global debut at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025. This step is a strong signal of Toyota's electrification strategy expansion.

Toyota Veloz hybrid has been produced locally at the PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) facility. In the early stages, TMMIN still prioritizes production to meet domestic market needs, then exports to a number of countries.

"Yes, we are working on that. We are trying to export all the domestically produced models. Only this is the right steering wheel, while there are many export destinations that drive left. So indeed we have a development stage later for the left wheel," said Deputy President Director of PT. TMMIN Bob Azam, at the GJAW 2025 event, recently.

"So the initial stage of the right steering wheel first. We hope to add (exports) yes. Anyway, in 2030, we expect 50 percent of our exports to be electrified," said Bob.

Toyota has opened a Veloz Hybrid order since GJAW 2025 was held. Consumers who order until December 2025 have the right to enjoy special prices starting from IDR 299 million for the V Grade variant, or at the bottom.

Meanwhile, the highest variant is priced at IDR 390 million. This car uses a 2NR-VEX coded engine with a capacity of 1,500 cc, combined with an electric motor, the system is similar to that of a Yaris Cross Hybrid and there are some adjustments.

"The hybrid system is the same as the Yaris Cross. But of course this is a different model, one 7 seats, one 5 seats, of course there is an adjustment to make driving more optimal or fuel efficiency maximized," said Vice President Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) Henry Tanoto.
