JAKARTA - Changan Automobile officially puts its foot in the Indonesian automotive market by cooperating with Indomobil Group as a strategic partner. Despite the status of a newcomer, the Chinese manufacturer immediately stepped on the gas by preparing an aggressive expansion strategy through the construction of a large-scale dealer network.
In the next five years, Changan is targeting the presence of more than 100 dealers in Indonesia. As a first step, the company will build about 20 dealers throughout 2026, before accelerating expansion in the following years to reach the target by 2030.
VP of Change South East Asia Business Unit, Zhou Qing, explained that network development will focus on areas with the largest market potential, especially Java, Kalimantan, and Sumatra.

"For the short-term plan, we will build 20 dealers next year with a focus on Java, Kalimantan and Sumatra. Our Dealer uses the 3S model with the city store concept to reach the main business," said Zhuo Qing in South Jakarta, some time ago.
"Then for the long-term plan, we will have more than 100 dealers in Indonesia by 2030. The facility will cover the entire area here," he added.
According to Qing, Southeast Asia is a key area for Changan's global expansion. In the next five years, the company is targeting a total of 755 dealers spread across various Southeast Asian countries.
Not only about the sales network, Changan also shows his seriousness through local production steps. This was conveyed by Indomobil Group Director Andrew Nasuri, during the official launch of the Changan brand.
"Actually, we have started to assembly vehicles (in Indonesia). So CKD has started, then the two vehicles that will be launched at GJAW 2025 have been produced in Indonesia and are in the TKDN process. So in the near future, this will be certified," said Andrew Nasuri.
Changan has also announced the prices of his first two electric cars sold in Indonesia, Deepal S07 and Lumin, in the 2025 Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) event, Friday, November 21. Lumin's electric car was released to the market with a price tag of IDR 178 million, while the Deepal S07 electric SUV was marketed at a price of IDR 599 million.
