JAKARTA - Jeep announced the recall of its two products on the market. This recall covers 112,859 units of Wrangler 4ex PHEV and 36,840 units of Grand Cherokee PHEV.
Citing the Carscoops page, Sunday, November 16, Jeep in its report said the Mexican-made 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine embedded in their two products may be contaminated with debris from the casting process.
"If the dirt goes into the wrong place, the engine can be damaged, causing power loss and possibly losing control, accident, or fire," the report reads.
As of the end of October 2025 for Wrangler 4ex and Cherokee PHEV, Jeep noted that it had received 36 complaints, 144 guarantee claims, 36 fire reports, 50 engine dead cars, and 50 other complaints.
Of the number of reports submitted to the company, three people were reported to have suffered injuries.
Responding to the above, Jeep will begin the handling process by informing starting December 29, 2025 to 76,019 Wrangler 4ex PHEV owners produced in 2024-2025 and 36,840 Grand Cherokee PHEV users produced 2023-2025.
Later, 112,859 Wrangler 4ex and Cherokee PHEV customers will get a fully new engine.
The emergency withdrawal comes just weeks after Jeep warned more than 320,000 owners to park its Wrangler or 4xe Grand Cherokee outside the residence due to the risk of the battery burning.
In October 2025, Jeep also pulled nearly 25,000 Wrangler 4xe models after a poor OTA update sent their hybrid systems into chaos, in some cases causing them to lose power.
This year has been a difficult thing for Jeep, but with an update, it would be a good thing to continue to improve the car system, so that users remain safe driving.
