Iconist Cars From Famous Films Auctioned At Fantastic Prices, There's Evo Paul Walker

JAKARTA The Bonhams auction house is preparing an event that will attract automotive and film lovers. More than 50 vehicles that have appeared in various popular films in the world will be auctioned.

This rare collection includes cars from famous franchises such as Fast & Furious, Jurassic Park, to Taxi. All of these vehicles come from the Movie Cars Central Museum located on the outskirts of Paris, France.

The museum is managed by automotive collector Franck Galigue, who has for years collected cars and motorbikes that appear on the big screen. Now, he decided to release part of his collection to new enthusiasts.

"I've spent many years collecting these cars. Now is the time to hand it over to the new owner," said Galiègue as reported by Motor1, Wednesday, November 12.

According to Bonhams Specialist Lohatec Maschi, this collection is not just a series of classic vehicles, but a real witness from the history of the world's cinema and automotive. "Many of these vehicles are authentic witnesses of film and automotive history. Each car has a strong story and identity," he said.

Some of the vehicles that are at the center of attention include Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII from the film 2 Fast 2 Furious (2001). This yellow iconic car with blue strip is estimated to be sold in the range of USD 290,000, or around IDR 4.8 billion (with an exchange rate of IDR 16.750)

No less interesting, the 'Offroad' 1970 Dodge Charger used in Fast & Furious 7 will also be auctioned off with an estimated price starting from USD 174,000, or around IDR 2.9 billion. Then there was Peugeot 406 V6 which appeared in Taxi 2 (1999).

In addition, adventure film lovers can find the Cagiva 60022 motor from Jurassic Park: The Lost World. Then there is the Mustang Mach 1 used in the John Wick 2 action film with an estimated selling price of USD 98,000 to USD 162,000.

This unique collection will be exhibited to the public first from November 21 to 28, before being auctioned online by Bonhams. During the preview period, prospective buyers can see firsthand the condition of each vehicle and supporting documents that prove their authenticity and involvement in film production.

Each vehicle has its own charm for collectors and film enthusiasts. Lancer Evo VII, for example, became a symbol of the early era of street racing films that raised the name of the late Paul Walker. Dombel's Dodge Charger is synonymous with the strengths and characteristics of the Fast & Furious series.

Maschi added that the authenticity factor and film history are the main determinants of the selling value of this kind of vehicle. "For true collectors, car ownership like this is not a matter of engine performance, but about having a small part of the world's pop culture history," he said.
