Maruti Suzuki Proud Of Jimny's Achievement 5 Doors, Exports Reach 100 Thousand Units Around The World

JAKARTA - Maruti Suzuki India Limited has again recorded proud export achievements through the Jimny 5-door SUV, which has now crossed the cumulative figure of 100 thousand units exported from India.

Produced exclusively in India, Jimny 5 doors are now present at more than 100 international markets, confirming India's position as one of the global automotive manufacturing hubs.

Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Hisashi Takeuchi, said that Jimny has a legacy of more than half a century in the global market. The achievement of 100,000 units of exports for Jimny 5 doors is a historic milestone for the company.

We are very grateful to customers around the world for their trust in this legendary SUV. Strong off-road DNA, reliable performance, and uncompromising quality make Jimny admired in more than 100 countries," he said, quoted from Rushlane's website, Friday, October 24.

Launched for the export market in 2023, Jimny 5 Indian-made doors quickly achieved success in various countries, including Japan, Mexico, Australia, South Africa, Chile, and Indonesia. In Japan, where this model was introduced earlier this year under the name Jimny Nomade, the SUV received an extraordinary welcome with more than 50 thousand orders just days after its launch. Jimny 5 doors are now Maruti Suzuki's second most export model after the Frenx crossover.

Built on a ladder chassis and equipped with Suzuki's four-wheeled ALLGRIP PRO drive system, the Jimny 5-door combines tough off-road capabilities with practicality for daily use. Powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, this SUV offers endurance and a suitable performance for adventurers and urban users.

Takeuchi added, Jimny along with 16 other export models are a real example of the spirit of 'Made in India for the World.'

"The year-on-year increase in exports reflects global customer confidence in our products and marks India's rise as a world-class automotive manufacturing hub," he concluded.
