Changan Speeds Up In Thailand, Introduces New Model And Builds Factory For Export Base

JAKARTA - Changan Automobile took a long step in Thailand's automotive market, introducing three environmentally friendly vehicle models.

Based on a report from Motorist, quoted Wednesday, October 22, three new premium models include Deepal New S07, a premium electric crossover with an LFP battery capable of charging quickly from 30-80 percent in just 15 minutes.

In addition, there is the Deepal Hunter K50 REEV Max AWD, a field-all SUV with a differential key front and rear and a 22 kW DC V2L power output, designed for adventure enthusiasts. Finally, there is the AVATR 11 Royal Edition which is scheduled for launch in November.

According to the Managing Director for Changan Auto Southeast Asia and CHANGAN Auto Sales (Thailand) Co Ltd Shen Xinghua, Thailand plays an important role in the Changan regional roadmap.

The company invested more than 10 billion baht to build its first foreign EV manufacturing plant in Rayong province, which will serve as a regional production hub for ASEAN, Australia, and New Zealand, he said.

The new plant is expected to generate more than 20,000 jobs, with 90 percent of the workforce being used by Thai and local parts exceeding 60 percent set to reach 80 percent by 2030. The Chinese brand also plans to export more than 1,000 DEEPAL S05 units to Europe by the end of this year.

Long-term plans
