History Resurfaced In Brazil: BYD Becomes World's First Automotive Manufacturer To Achieve Production Of 14 Million New Energy Vehicles

JAKARTA - China's automotive giant BYD has just made history. The company became the world's first automaker to reach a production milestone of 14 million units of New Energy Vehicles (NEV), which includes pure electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs).

This monumental achievement is even more special because the 14 millionth unit officially launched from the production line at the new BYD factory in Cama calmari, Brazil.

The inauguration of the 14 million NEV car was witnessed directly by Brazilian President Luiz Inbowo Lula da Silva, who was also present to celebrate the momentum.

It is known, the factory in Cama Orangari is BYD's first electric vehicle production facility outside China. This advanced industrial complex was previously a former Ford plant and has now been acquired and reconstructed into a center of modern EV innovation, marking BYD's serious commitment to accelerating the green transition in Latin America. Initial models assembled in this new facility include BYD Dolphin Mini (known as Seagull in China), Song Pro, and King (local version of Qin Plus DM-i).
