Radar Officially Enters The Philippines, Boyong Picks Up RD6 BEV And PHEV

JAKARTA - The Philippine automotive market is the main destination for many automotive manufacturers from China. Most recently, Radar, which is a sub brand from Geely, officially entered the market by presenting environmentally friendly pickup trucks.

Quoting from the Autoindustrya page, Sunday, October 5, Radar entered the Philippines through the United Asia Automotive Group Inc (UAAGI) which was introduced last April 2025. Now, the brand is officially present in a pickup truck RD6.

Radar debuted in the Philippines with a pickup truck RD6 that comes with two choices of powertrains, ranging from Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) or pure electric vehicle, as well as Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) which combines internal combustion engines and battery electric motors.

Looking at the specifications, in terms of dimensions, the size of the dimension differs in variance. For example, the RD6 EM-P has a length of 5277mm, a width of 1900mm and a height of 1880mm with a wheelbase of 3120mm. The RD6 Econ variant has a height of 5260mm, a width of 1900mm and a length of 1865mm, but the same wheelbase is 3120mm.

Both RD6 variants are equipped with MacPherson-independent buffers with a strong multilinked back layout. Very complementary to the modern pickup display is two-color velg and the disc brakes are ventilated in all corners that ensure sufficient stopping.

Entering and Radar RD6 welcomes passengers with functional interiors, one with a well-contoured chair covered with PVC skin lasts a long time so that it is easy to clean and care for. To keep users entertained, RD6 is also equipped with a 14.6-inch touch screen that has Apple Carplay and Carbit Link for smartphone connectivity. Other features include 10.2-inch TFT instrument clusters, 540-degree cameras, 8 speakers, and double-zone climate control for a good size.

Behind the hood, the hybrid variant RD6 EM-P comes with a three-cylinder turbocharged 1.5 liter engine dubbed the "Thor" Hybrid Special Machine, producing 156 PS and 252 Nm torque. This internal combustion unit is paired with a double electric 218 PS motorcycle in front and 245 PS behind, making the RD6 EM-P electric pickup driving all wheels combined with 463 PS and 659 Nm torque.

The plug-in hybrid system has a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) 19.09 kWh battery, which offers a special EV range of up to 82 km. With the combined powertrain, Radar claims the RD6 Horizon can reach a total range of more than 1,000 km, making it a very versatile choice for urban and long-range driving.

Meanwhile, the full electricity version comes in three variants with varying power output. It starts with 245 PS and 309 Nm for RWD and 281 PS, 485 Nm for 4WD models.

Speaking of the price, this pickup is priced the cheapest starting from 1,358,000 pesos or around Rp388 million for the Radar RD6 variant ECON BEV 4x2.
