A strong trade position opens the way to a bright future in Indonesia
Indonesia has grown into a strong international trading partner through its participation in various trade agreements and key roles in regional partnerships. This status is further strengthened by plans to announce the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CEPA) between the European Union and Indonesia, which has the potential to open up opportunities for trade and relations with the European Union, as well as create opportunities for the development of the automotive industry.
This sector has attracted international interest thanks to growing government and middle-class incentives with increased purchasing power, among other factors. It is currently the largest automotive market in Southeast Asia, with car sales estimated at 900,000 units and motorcycle sales estimated at between 6.4 and 6.7 million units by 2025, according to the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO) and the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI).
Although recently rising as a global player, Indonesia has been successful regionally, acting as the main Complete Built-Up (CBU) vehicle exporter, sending more than 472,000 vehicles to more than 100 countries under various major OEM automotive manufacturers in 2024.
The exhibition will offer international players the opportunity to take advantage of prospective local markets, and for domestic companies to establish global connections for trade.
