Daihatsu Launches E-SNEAKER, Unique Mobility Solution Up To 12 Km Without Needing A SIM

JAKARTA The known innovative automotive manufacturer Daihatsu officially launched e-SNEAKER in Japan on August 25. e-SNEAKER is a private mobility vehicle designed specifically for pedestrian comfort.

This unique device does not require a driving license (SIM), so it can be used by anyone, especially active elderly people who want to stay independent in their activities.

Citing Japan's local media report Carwatch, one unit is priced at 418,000 yen or around Rp46 million (current exchange rate), e-SNEAKER is included in the category of electric wheelchairs so that it is free of consumption tax. This device is already available at Daihatsu dealers throughout Japan, complete with a full-sale service. With the concept of "a agile, safe, and proud vehicle," Daihatsu wants to provide new value for everyday mobility, allowing users to travel a little further from foot distance.

The e-SNEAKER has a compact dimension of 1130 x 645 x 985 mm (P x L x T) weighing 2.5 kg. This vehicle is powered by a removable lithium-ion battery, equipped with an anti-malling key. Charging is very easy, it only takes about 2.5 hours to stop the household contact, and is able to cover a distance of 12 km in one full charge.

This vehicle features safety and comfort, such as 8-inch front tires (about 340mm) capable of passing through mounds of up to 7.5 cm and gaps of up to 10 cm. In addition, e-SNEAKER is also equipped with a slope sensor that will give a warning when passing steep inclines or derivatives. The design of an ergonomic and high seating that can be adjusted provides convenience and wide view for its users.

In terms of operation, e-SNEAKER is very simple. Enough with three steps 'turn on the power, press the brakes lever, and rotate the handle of the 'vehicle' is ready to go. Users can choose a maximum speed of six, from 1 to 6 km/hour, according to their needs.

The President & CEO of Daihatsu Motor, Masahiro Inoue, explained that e-SNEAKER was created with the philosophy of "easing no one behind" or nothing left behind. This innovation is the answer to the challenge of "last mile" mobility in the midst of reduced public transportation services.
