DCVMI Launches 1626L Mercedes Benz Bus Sasis For Exports, Real Forms Of Factory Commitment In RI

JAKARTA - Daimler Commercial Vehicles Manufacturing Indonesia (DCVMI) has started exporting the Mercedes-Benz 1626L Euro 5 bus chassis for the export market, which is assembled in Cikarang.

President Director of Daimler Commercial Vehicles Manufacturing Indonesia, Sankaraayan Ramamurthi, said that during the inauguration, DCVMI promised the Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita to build an export strategy.

"Now we fulfill this promise. The release of the first export unit is clear evidence of DCVMI's role in strengthening local supply chains, encouraging domestic industrial growth, and expanding Indonesia's export capabilities," he said in an official statement received on Saturday, August 23, 2025.

On the same occasion, Managing Director & CEO of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), Satyakam Arya, added that the release of the inaugural Mercedes-Benz 1626L Euro 5 unit for this export was a historic achievement for DCVMI and DCVI, shortly after the inauguration of our new factory in Cikarang.

Please note, Mercedes-Benz 1626L Euro 5 chassis buses are specially designed to support export strategies with a major focus on ASEAN countries.

As the first model exported from this factory, the vehicle is equipped with Euro 5 emission technology, air suspensions, rear engine configurations, and space frame chassis. This combination presents superior performance as well as compliance with strict environmental regulations.

With a target of around 60 percent of local content for buses complete, the chassis of 1626L Euro 5 contributes significantly to Indonesia's efforts to increase domestic added value.

Meanwhile, the factory stands on an area of 15 hectares. The facility in Cikarang has an annual production capacity of up to 5,000 units of truck chassis and Mercedes-Benz buses.

This factory was built with a total investment of IDR 500 billion, integrating the latest manufacturing process to improve operational efficiency and product quality, as well as supporting sustainable industrial and community development.
