JAKARTA - Regarding the BYD Seal incident that emitted smoke some time ago in West Jakarta, BYD Indonesia finally revealed the results of its investigation.
BYD believes that the case is an external factor after conducting a joint investigation with the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC).
Head of Marketing, PR & Government Relations BYD Indonesia, Luther Pandjaitan said that the incident was due to an animal bite which caused a short circuit in the low voltage battery section.
"I will inform you again that we have conducted a joint investigation with the KNKT. And at that time we have also released the results of the investigation. That this is a condition caused by external factors. It could be an insect bite or an animal bite," said Luther Pandjaitan to the media crew in Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 16.

So, he believes that the incident did not come from the main battery in the BYD Seal electric vehicle. He explained, actually the low voltage battery in the BYD Seal is a different component to the high-voltage battery used to drive the car.
This component, has similarities to the batteries in conventional cars. The performance of this component also has a similar function, namely it works to start the car when the starter button is pressed and other basic electronic systems.
In BYD Seal, it uses this battery with Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) technology and has a voltage of 12 volts.
"So the low voltage battery is the same as the battery. Indeed, the material is not the same as the usual vehicle battery. And indeed, he was just ignorant of the impact of the attachment to the squirrel," he said.
Until now, Luther believes that all products presented in Indonesia are in accordance with the security standards set by the BYD principal.
Recently, BYD Indonesia has presented an update for the Seal model in Indonesia. BYD Seal, now equipped with a smart suspension system called the DiSus-C Intelligent Damping Body Control System. This smart technology is claimed to provide a more comfortable driving experience.
This suspension system is developed itself by BYD and has just been embedded in the Seal Electric Vehicle (EV) model, especially for the highest variant. This latest technology serves to adjust real-time damping according to road conditions and driving style, thereby increasing passenger stability and comfort.
