Having A Futuristic Design And High Technology, MG4 EV Gets The Best Small EV Award

JAKARTA - The Indonesian auto market is now growing, especially in the environmentally friendly vehicle segment. Including MG Motor Indonesia which has various lines ups, from HEV to BEV.

One of the MG models that attracted attention was the MG4 EV, and even the electric car was named the newest Small EV from the 2025 Automotive Award, as well as adding to the series of positive achievements in the Indonesian automotive market.

CEO of MG Motor Indonesia Frank Zhou expressed his appreciation for the award given for the MG4 EV model. Electric hatchback cars that offer modern and sporty designs, and are equipped with various modern features.

The Automotive Award award is an annual event to give appreciation to the best vehicles from various categories. This year, a total of 35 cars were tested by the tester team, and the MG4 EV also received the best title in the Small EV segment at this annual award event.

This award strengthens the position of MG4 EV as a modern electric vehicle that combines futuristic design, high technology, and dynamic performance. The MG4 EV comes with an electric motor powered 170 PS and a torque of 250 Nm, as well as a rear wheel drive (RWD) that provides a sporty and precision driving sensation. With a distance of up to 423 km (NEDC), the MG4 EV supports daily mobility and long-distance travel efficiently. Not only superior in terms of performance, but the MG4 EV is also designed with a main focus on safety.

This electric vehicle is powered by complete passive and active safety features such as fronts, sides, and container airbags, Stability Control System, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, up to 360 degree Cameras. In addition, the MG4 EV is also equipped with the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) feature and a strong-power framework structure. For the completeness of the safety support feature, the MG4 EV also received an assessment of the 5 Euro NCAP star.

Entering the era of electric vehicles, MG places battery safety as one of the top priorities. This is very crucial considering the widespread adoption of electric vehicles requires guaranteeing a safe and reliable power storage system. MG4 EV uses high-quality batteries from collaboration between SAIC Motor and CATL, the world's largest battery manufacturer. Each battery unit underwent rigorous testing according to IP67 standards, and is equipped with an Intelligent Battery Control Management system that maintains temperature stability and prevents overheat risk.

With a combination of impressive performance, international standard safety features, and advanced battery technology, MG4 EV in Indonesia has received a positive response since its introduction in 2023 and began to be assembled in Indonesia in early 2024. In 2024 alone, more than 2,300 MG4 EV units have been sold and enjoyed by Indonesian consumers.
