JAKARTA - Japan's luxury automotive manufacturer, Lexus will soon stop selling its cheapest electric vehicle in Australia, UX 300e.

According to Drive's report, Friday, May 23, the manufacturer bearing the "L" logo confirmed that it no longer sells the compact crossover, leaving only the RZ model as a pure electric vehicle line sold in the Kangarous Country.

The brand said the halt to sales of UX 300e was due to production restrictions on certain components in this car.

"UX 300e will no longer be available in Australia due to production restrictions on certain components. However, the Australian Lexus remains committed to electrification, with nearly 80 percent shipping to electric-powered car customers," the manufacturer said.

Although the UX 300e model will stop being marketed, Lexus will still sell electrification lines ranging from Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV), to Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV).

"Lexus has just introduced a plug-in hybrid option for RX in line with its leadership in industry-leading hybrid cars, and will soon add the latest RZ to its product lineup," the brand said.
