Having High Quality Products, Geely Borong Two Global Standard Awards

JAKARTA - An automotive manufacturer from China, Geely Auto, has again proven its existence after winning two awards on an international scale.

The first award was that Geely made it into TIME's list of best companies in the Asia-Pacific 2025 region and ranked 91st overall from several companies in the world.

This achievement is assessed based on revenue growth, employee satisfaction, and sustainability performance (ESG). This one company is known to have an approach that focuses on customers, intelligent mobility, and presents high-quality products.

Headquartered in Hangzhou, Geely is known for its customer-focused approach, smart mobility solutions, and high-quality vehicle products, Geely wrote in a statement received Thursday, April 17.

Then the second award is the Outstanding Contribution Award from the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), a global standardization organization in the global automotive industry.

Geely officially joined the IATF in 2021 and became Asia's first member in 2023. Geely collaborated with various global partners such as Ford, AIAG, and VDA to improve the quality standards of the world's automotive industry.

The automaker from China has contributed to the formation of more than 600 international and industrial standards, leading efforts to update global quality systems such as the IATF 16949.

Beyond that, Geely has expanded into various Southeast Asian markets including Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia, and New Zealand by providing its flagship electric vehicle, EX5.

For the Indonesian market, the brand plans to start local production of EX5 in the third quarter of this year which took place in Purwakarta, West Java through the assembly line Handal Indonesia Motor (HIM).

Geely EX5 is equipped with a front-wheeled electric motor that has a power of up to 160 kW and a torque of up to 320 Nm. With this force, this car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour within 6.9 seconds for the Pro variant and 7.1 seconds for Max type.

Meanwhile, EX5 has a 60.22 kWh capacity battery that can provide a distance of up to 495 km on Pro and 490 km for the Max variant.

The brand sells this compact SUV at a price starting from IDR 475 million for Pro type and IDR 515 million for Max type for the Indonesian market.

Throughout 2024, Geely managed to record sales of 2.17 million units globally with more than 414,000 units of which were exports.
