A Number Of Fire Cars, Here's The Official Statement Of Chery Indonesia

Many on social media a short video shows a number of cars on fire, which refers that the model (Omoda) belongs to PT Chery Sales Indonesia.

Responding to this, PT Chery Sales Indonesia opened its voice, in an official statement received by VOI, Monday, March 24, there were three points revealed by Chery for the incident.

1. We want to clarify the information circulating that the KD (Knock-Down) Kit unit affected in the incident is a component for vehicle products with an internal combustion engine (ICE). We need to clarify that the units affected in this incident are not electric vehicles (EVs), but Knock-Down (KD) Kits for vehicles with internal combustion engines (ICEs). As evidence, we attach a photo showing the characteristics of the KD Kit, where there is a hole for refueling oil tanks (BBMs) is seen only found in internal combustion engine cars.

2. We want to participate in clarifying that the incident did not occur in or in the factory or warehouse Chery area, but was outsourced where the location and management were at third parties' place. and at the location it is confirmed that there are no electric vehicles (EVs) as reported.

3. Currently, PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) is conducting a thorough internal investigation to fully understand the causes and impacts of this incident. We are also working closely with the police and other relevant agencies in the process of further investigation.
