Mazda Introduces Skyactiv-Z, A Low-Emissions New Generation Machine Without Combating Performance

JAKARTA - Recently, Mazda confirmed his future plans, especially in presenting the latest generation machines under the name Skyactiv-Z which are claimed to reduce costs, fuel consumption, and emissions.

Launching from Motor1, Wednesday, March 19, the machine maintains the same configuration as it is today, which is 2.5 liters 4-cylinder. However, Mazda says this system can produce higher thermal efficiency and longer range than Skyactiv-G and Skyactiv-X.

Furthermore, the Skyactiv-Z engine has standardized regulations for Euro 7 which will come for the European market and Tier 4 for the North American market.

The engine is expected to efficiently expand the SPCCI combustion area. This is an acronym for the abbreviation of the Spark Controlled Compression Ignition or allows the engine to seamlessly switch between burning and conventional sparks and burning by compression by using sparks to trigger both types of combustion in different ways.

The purpose of this combustion innovation is to generate fuel savings such as diesel and initial power distribution with high rpm and cleaner exhaust emissions.

Skyactiv-Z has the latest heat shielding technology, which promises to reach the highest burning threshold. This maximizes efficiency and minimizes emissions by ensuring complete fuel burning, thereby reducing harmful pollutants.

Although there are fewer exhaust gases issued, the manufacturer from Japan guarantees that Skyactiv-Z has a pleasant performance to drive.

Adjusting existing machines to comply with new regulations will lower output by 30 percent, but Skyactiv-Z will comply with stricter standards without losing power.

Although not yet officially announced, the first model to get the engine configuration is the latest generation from CX-5 which is expected to launch by the end of 2027.
