JAKARTA - Bad news came from South Korean automotive giant Hyundai. One of the models, namely Ioniq 5N, is reportedly affected by the recall in the United States (US).

Launching from the Motor Authority, Tuesday, March 18, the crossover had to be withdrawn due to problems with the braking system and had resulted in one accident.

This recall program involves 1,508 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N units in Uncle Sam's country. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the braking system has a software error so that its performance has decreased and can increase the risk of accidents.

This occurs especially when the left foot braking feature or one of the devices activated by the software to make the car fun to drive.

This left-foot braking helps manage weight transfers while reducing the time it takes to move from full acceleration to full braking. It's a good thing that manufacturers are finding ways to include it along with dental transfer simulations, ICE engine sound and impurity exhaust, and driving mode.

However, the system can trigger an anti-locking braking system (ABS) deprescription. This means that the system cannot function in certain situations if needed.

Hyundai has informed NHTSA that they were aware of one accident related to this issue until February 6, when submitting a withdrawal document to the institution. However, the manufacturer with the 'H logo is tilted, not yet aware of any deaths or fires related to this matter.

The manufacturer advised owners Ioniq 5N to stop using left foot braking so they can take the brand car to the nearest dealer.

Furthermore, the technician will update the software for integrated vehicle control units and electronic brakes for free. Hyundai will send a notification letter to the owner on April 7.
