Audi R8 Next Generation Will Use The Lamborghini Temerario Base, Launching In 2027

JAKARTA - Audi officially stopped the production of its legendary sports model, R8 in March last year and its last unit has been announced. Even though it is not produced, the manufacturer with the logo "four rings" still opens up opportunities to revive the model.

The latest news is that Audi is preparing again for R8 as a supercar with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system in a more extreme form than before.

Autocar reported, Tuesday, March 11, the latest Audi R8 will debut at the end of 2027. Its development program has the support of the current Audi CEO, Gernot Dollner.

The third generation of Audi R8 will take inspiration from Lamborghini Temerario. It is hoped that the car will use a transmission system, main structural elements, electronics, and chassis, as is the successor to the Huracan.

It is known that Audi and Lamborghini are under the auspices of the parent company, Volkswagen Group.

Returning to the latest R8, Audi will design the car not only for performance but also for daily needs. It is estimated that this brand will present it in the couple and cabriolet versions as before.

Audi will use the same approach as Lamborghini, replacing the 5.2 liter V10 machine in the previous generation with 4.0 liters of twin-turbocharged V8.

The heart will be combined with three axial-flux electric motors, which provide a total power boost of up to 907 hp. Just like the Temerario, the latest Audi R8 will be equipped with a 3.8 kWh battery pack from Lamborghini Revuelto.

At the Themerario, two motors are mounted on the front wheel doubles to create four-wheel drive settings. The third bike is positioned between the V8 engine and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that acts as a starter-generator and recovers energy during braking.

With this energy, there is the potential that Audi will also launch the latest R8 Performance which can blow its highest energy to close to 1,000 cellphones.

Just like the previous generation, the latest generation of Audi R8 will be produced at the Bollinger Hofe factory, Germany.
