Following Mondeo And Fiesta, Ford Focus Will Be Injected To Die This November

JAKARTA - Automotive manufacturer from the United States (US), Ford is taking bold steps by retiring the Focus model in Europe. This follows other legendary names that have been injected dead, such as Mondeo in 2022 and Fiesta in 2023.

Reported by Motor1, Friday, March 7, production from this medium-sized hatchback will end in November and the manufacturer has no plans to present its successor.

Although production will be halted by the end of this year, customers who wish to have a hatchback can still order Focus within the next few months.

With Focus' death injection, Ford will also stop one of its most popular trims, namely ST. This model is becoming Special in the eyes of automotive fans because it has a more sporting form than its regular version and is equipped with manual transmission.

The manufacturer nicknamed Blue Oval will rely on other models to drive sales such as Puma, Kuga, and Capri that were recently launched. Meanwhile, Ford also provides larger models such as the Mach-E Mustang and Explorer for the European market.

Currently, Ford Focus comes in the fourth generation to launch in 2018 which was produced at the Saarlouis factory, Germany.

The hatchback is available in a number of different powertrain variants, ranging from pure gasoline, fused petrol mid-hybrid, and diesel.

For pure gasoline, Focus has several engine configurations consisting of 1.0 liters EcoBoost with 85 ps to 125 ps, 1.5 liters EcoBoost with 123 ps to 182 ps, up to 2.3 liters EcoBoost with a high power of 280 ps.

Then, this one car is offered with a mid-hybrid technology that combines 1.0 liter EcoBoost engines powered by 125 ps to 155 ps. Then, diesel has a variety of configurations that vary from 1.5 liters EcoBlue with 95 ps to 120 ps and 2.0 EcoBlue with 150 ps to 190 ps.

Since the emergence of the first generation in 1998, Ford Focus has also had a high level of popularity and is remembered for its participation in the world rally arena, WRC.

The car took part in this prestigious competition from 1998 to 2005 with the first generation and 2006 to 2010 with the second generation, before being replaced by Fiesta in 2011.
