Xiaomi Plans To Start Selling Global Electric Cars In 2027

JAKARTA - One that the global automotive market anticipates is the presence of electric cars from Xiaomi, a well-known technology manufacturer from China who also takes part in the environmentally friendly vehicle segment. Now the latest report, Xiaom plans to be present in the global market in 2027.

Based on a report from Carnewschina, quoted on Tuesday, March 4, this certainty was revealed by Xiaomi President William Lu, during an interview with Chinese media, during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Spain.

"We started selling cars in March last year, but I think Xiaomi Auto was accompanied by more doubts in the previous three years," said William Lu.

Furthermore, he said, after every company revenue press conference, Xiaomi always communicates with investors and everyone tends to think Xiaomi is late and has missed the best chance.

According to William Lu, the market has changed a lot after the launch of its first model in March last year, namely SU7 to SU7 Ultra.

"We have laid very good foundations in these two fights and removed everyone's doubts about Xiaomi's delays in entering the auto manufacturing market, so I think the automotive business has gained a foothold in the Chinese market," he added.

William said, Xiaomi's overall strategy is to be successful first in China, when a brand does not have a strong foothold in the domestic market it will be difficult to do business abroad.

"I will visit several European countries to investigate markets and look at global overseas data. I have a goal and I hope we can officially go abroad in 2027," he concluded.
