EV Market Is Getting Hotter! Xpeng Is Ready To Enliven Indonesia's Automotive Market At The End Of This Month

JAKARTA - The wave of automotive manufacturers from China continues to flow to Indonesia, carrying big names such as BYD, Jetour, Zeekr, and now, Xpeng is ready to enliven competition in the Indonesian electric vehicle market.

Xpeng's presence in Indonesia became even more evident after the company sent an official invitation to the media to attend its inaugural launch. Based on an invitation received by VOI editor, the Grand Launch Xpeng will take place on February 28, 2025, at 14:00 WIB. However, the location of the event is still kept secret.

"Save The Date Grand Launch Xpeng February 28, 2025," wrote the official invitation from Xpeng, which was received on Thursday, February 20.

As previously reported by VOI, Xpeng collaborated with Erajaya Active Lifestyle (ERAL) to become the sole agent of this leading brand holder. This appointment was inaugurated through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Erajaya Active Lifestyle represented by Djohan Sutanto as CEO and Alex Tang as Head of the International Division of Sales and Service Xpeng.

This achievement is a significant step in Xpeng's global expansion, particularly in Asia, while strengthening its commitment to providing AI-based sustainable mobility solutions around the world.

CEO of Erajaya Active Lifestyle Djohan Sutanto, said the signing of the MoU with Xpeng was an important achievement in ERAL's journey, with strategic steps to enter the electric vehicle (EV) business as the sole agent of their brand holder.

"We are proud to be collaborating with Xpeng, one of the world's leading EV players, to encourage the development of the electric vehicle industry in Indonesia," he said, late last year.

On the same occasion, Xpeng's Head of International Division of Sales and Services Alex Tang, said the partnership with ERAL was an important step in Xpeng's global expansion.

"We are excited to introduce a new standard of electric mobility to Indonesian consumers, which combines innovative technology with extraordinary designs to provide unrivaled experiences that meet the needs of today's drivers," said Alex.

Not only one model launched like in Malaysia, Xpeng immediately presented two models at once in Indonesia. First there is Xpeng G6 and secondly there is Xpeng X9 a 7 premium MPV electric seater which has also been present in several neighboring countries.
