Back To The Indonesian Market, Geely Introduces An EX5 Electric Car That Will Be Built Locally In The Second Quarter Of This Year

JAKARTA - An automotive manufacturer from China, Geely, has again shown its existence in the Indonesian market after leaving 2016.

In today's introduction, Geely brought her latest electric (EV) model under the name EX5 in the form of a compact SUV offering cutting-edge technology.

Not only that, this brand also confirms that it will assemble EX5 locally (CKD) which will be built in Bekasi in collaboration with PT Handal Motor Indonesia (HIM).

"We plan to build a factory in Indonesia in the second quarter of this year," said Vice President Geely Auto International, EVin Ye, in an explanation to the media in Tanjung Duren, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 22.

Geely EX5 is built with the manufacturer's self-developed GEA Architecture platform.

According to Geely's claim, the platform can charge from 30 to 80 percent in 20 minutes with fast-charging.

"The GAE platform has advanced and up-to-date technology so it charges batteries from 30 to 80 percent in 20 minutes with fast-charging," added Geely Indonesia CEO Victor Gao.

In addition, Geely also decided to present more choices of vehicles consisting of ICE, PHEV, and BEV with 5-SEATER configurations to 7-SEATERs.

The manufacturer from the bamboo curtain country also opened the pre-ordering period for Geely EX5 in Indonesia worth IDR 10,000 until 12 February.
