JAKARTA - PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia (MMKI) has successfully produced one million vehicles through its production facility at the GIIC Industrial Estate in Bekasi Regency, West Java.

“Reaching the milestone of one million vehicles and celebrating 55 years in Indonesia is more than just a number - it is the strong bond we have built with this country over the years,” said PT MMKI President & Chief Executive Officer Takao Kato, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, December 20.

According to him, the various vehicles produced at the facility are marketed for the needs of the domestic market and also exports to other countries, including ASEAN countries, so the facility has an important role as a major ASEAN production site.

“We will continue to launch products that are very attractive and contribute to the further development of the Indonesian economy,” he said.

The production center is a joint manufacturing company established by Mitsubishi Motors, Mitsubishi Corporation, and local partner PT Krama Yudha. The plant began production in April 2017 with an annual production capacity of 160,000 vehicles.

In fiscal 2019, the production capacity was increased to 220,000 vehicles, and vehicles produced by the company are now exported to around 50 countries.

Along with MMKI's good performance in production quality, PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI), the authorized distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Indonesia, also continues to focus on improving customer experience by offering quality products and services.

This milestone also coincides with Mitsubishi Motors' 55-year journey in Indonesia next year, and to celebrate this momentum, the “Life's Adventure: Empowering Every Journey” campaign has been launched to commemorate this achievement.

The historic event was also attended by Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza, Yasushi Masaki Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Indonesia, Takao Kato, President & Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Motors as well as suppliers, and other partner companies.

“Thanks to the support of the Indonesian government, suppliers, and our partner companies, our production center in Indonesia has become a key pillar of our company's business,” he concluded.
