Chery Jaecoo Will Also Greet Kangaroo State Market Next Year

Chery will make some breakthroughs in expanding its global market. This time, the automotive company from China confirmed Jaecoo's sub-brand will be present in the Australian market.

Launching from CarExpert, Friday, December 6, they will offer their premium products including Jaecool J7 PHEV which will arrive in lecherous country in the first quarter of next year and will compete with Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and Toyota RAV4 PHEV.

The manufacturer claims the Jaecool J7 PHEV can run on purely EV-type electric power up to 90 km according to the WLTP cycle with a combined distance of up to 1,200 km.

Although the performance figures for the Australian market have yet to be announced, Jaecoo claims the powertrain to be promoted has high fuel efficiency.

This is assisted by the existing Super Hybrid System' (SHS) technology in J7 which is claimed to be the pinnacle of hybrid technology ever designed by Chery.

"This system combines the convenience of traditional fuel engines with the dynamic efficiency of electric power," said Jaecool.

In the outdoor market, Jaecool J7 PHEV carries a 1.5 l TGDi engine paired with Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), and an electric motor on the front. The engine produces a combined power of 347 PS and torques reaching 525 Nm.

Unlike most other PHEV models, the Jaecool J7 PHEV has DC fast charging capabilities, seen in CCS2 ports embedded in the back of the vehicle, and has Vehicle to Load (V2L) capabilities. However, there are no details about the charging.

In more detail, this SUV comes with a new rim measuring 19 inches with a closed design. The design is similar to the Omoda E5 which is indeed the hallmark of the PHEV variant.

In addition, the brand will also greet the Indonesian market in 2025 and it is hoped that J7 PHEV will be the first step for this premium brand to be listed in the country.
