Global Volvo Car Sales In November 2024 Up 5 Percent, Supported By Positive Trends Of Electrification Segment

JAKARTA - A vehicle manufacturer from Sweden, Volvo Cars reported its global sales results during November 2024 of 66,977 units, an increase of 5 percent compared to last year in the same period.

The score was achieved thanks to the push for sales for electric vehicles in several regions, especially Europe and the United States (US). However, achievements for the Chinese market have decreased but the EV segment remains solid.

In addition, this achievement is also supported by significant electrification vehicle growth, consisting of Electric Vehicle (EV) and Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) to grow 40 percent compared to last year and accounted for 48 percent of the overall result last month.

Meanwhile, the share of electric cars actually contributed 21 percent of total global sales in November 2024.

According to data from the Volvo Cars website, Thursday, December 5, the most sales were achieved by the European region by contributing 31,611 units (donating 65 percent of the total) last month or up 20 percent compared to last year's acquisition.

EV Volvo car sales on the blue continent also increased dramatically by 39 percent compared to last year's score in the same period.

Then, the score of this brand also increased in Uncle Sam's country by successfully selling up to 12,259 units, an increase of 5 percent compared to last year. Meanwhile, its EV model also increased by 58 percent and PHEV to 96 percent.

The opposite result was achieved by Volvo in one of its largest markets, namely China by only collecting 13,923 units, down 8 percent compared to November 2023. Nevertheless, the total achievement for EVs and PHEV is up to 1,847 units (up 38 percent).

In November, XC60 still maintains the throne as the best-selling model of Volvo by obtaining 21,586 units, followed by a combined XC40 and EX40 totaling 14,613 units, and XC90 with 10,533 units.

In the eleven-month period in 2024, the manufacturer managed to sell as many as 689,585 units worldwide, an increase of 9 percent compared to last year.
