Chery Omoda E5 Wins Five Star In ANCAP Collision Test

Chery recorded satisfactory results on the electric car model, namely Omoda E5, not about sales but getting the highest star in the hit test.

Quoting from the ANCAP Safety Ratings and Drive Youtube channel, Tuesday, November 19, the electric SUV, which has launched in Indonesia, has received five stars in the ANCAP hit test program, the same figure as the gasoline version.

From the assessment given, Chery Omoda E5 gets an 87 percent score for adult passenger protection, 88 percent for child passenger protection, 68 percent for vulnerable road users protection, and 83 percent for safety assistance.

Based on the ANCAP 2020-2022 criteria that have now been replaced, a minimum score of 80 percent, 80 percent, 60 percent, and 70 percent is needed to reach the fifth star ranking.

Responding to this achievement, Head of Brand Department of PT Chery Sales Indonesia, Rifkie Setiawan, revealed that this success shows that Omoda E5 is not only superior in design and technology, but is also able to provide the best safety level recognized globally.

"Our commitment is to continue to present safe, comfortable, and in accordance with consumer needs, especially in Indonesia. This achievement also strengthens the position of Chery as a brand that prioritizes safety and quality in every product," he said, in an official statement received, Tuesday, November 19.

The Chery Omoda E5 is also superior in the main testing, based on the automatic braking system (AEB) for the Vulnerable Road User (VRU) protection and Safety Assist and makes this vehicle very reliable in protecting its users from potential accidents. In addition, the body designed at 78 percent of high-power steel provides maximum protection for this model.

Previously, in 2022 it was discovered that in testing vehicle safety in the European Union through Euro NCAP, Chery Omoda E5 also won five stars.
