AISI Predicts 2024 Motorcycle Sales To Reach 6.5 Million Units

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) estimates that motorcycle sales in Indonesia can reach 6.5 million units by 2024.

"We project the sale of motorbikes this year between 6.35 and 6.45 million units, and hopefully it can reach 6.5 million," said AISI General Chair, Johannes Loman, as reported by ANTARA, at the opening of the Indonesia Motorcycle Show (IMOS) 2024 at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, Banten, this Wednesday.

Johannes is optimistic that the trend of increasing sales will continue until 2025, with a target of between 6.4 million and 6.7 million units.

This prediction is based on a pattern of increasing motorcycle sales from year to year.

During January to September 2024, motorcycle sales were recorded at 4.87 million units, up 3.19 percent compared to the same period last year.

Motorcyclists continue to present new products and the latest technology to attract consumer interest.

Johannes stated that innovations that present motorbikes with advanced, safe, and environmentally friendly technology will continue to be carried out by the motorcycle industry.

The IMOS 2024 automotive exhibition is also expected to support the growth of motorcycle sales.

IMOS 2024 takes place from October 30 to November 3 at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, Banten, featuring various motorcycle brands and supporting accessories, as well as interesting activities for motorcycle enthusiasts.
