Aion Talks About The Possibility Of Bringing The HEV Model To The Indonesian Market, Wait For Incentives?

JAKARTA - Aion Indonesia, the sole agent holding the GAC Aion and Hyptec brands in the country, plans to bring various car lines to the local market (Indonesia).

Not only pure electric cars or Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), but also opens up the possibility of bringing another technology, the Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV).

This was revealed by Aion Indonesia CEO Andry Ciu, while talking at the HT Media Test Drive Hyptec in the Jakarta area.

"Talking about the possibility it's always there because the type of car like our hybrid has many versions in China," he said, when met some time ago.

As is known, GAC Aion itself is a brand from China that is not only focused on playing in the pure electric vehicle segment, but also presents many hybrid models for the Chinese market itself.

For the Indonesian market itself, currently Aion has presented three models, namely Y Plus, ES and the premium Hyptec HT SUV.

"Both HEV, PHEV and REV we will see the direction, we move it depending on the existing regulations," he added.

Indeed, when referring to the provision of hybrid incentives, it has not been issued. As revealed last August by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, he ensured that there would be no additional new policies for the automotive sector this year.

However, unlike Airlangga, Gaikindo agreed with the Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita to express his desire for hybrid car incentives even though it was not as big as the BEV.
