Nissan Promises Navara There Will Be A Nismo Version, Ready To Challenge The Ford Ranger Raptor

JAKARTA - The current generation Navara model has entered the age of ten so that it is one of the longest-standing models in the market today. However, Nissan has planned its newest generation.

Vice President of Global Product Strategy Nissan Ivan Espinosa, promised that fourth-generation Navara would be a very attractive truck pickup on the market and would introduce Nismo's version to challenge the Ford Ranger Raptor.

"This is something we are considering. You can imagine seeing something similar to our partners," Espinosa was quoted as saying by CarsGuide, Monday, September 23.

However, it is possible that Navara, the latest generation, will be developed by leveraging partnerships with other manufacturers. Espinosa advises manufacturers to rely on partners like Premcar in Australia.

"Especially in Australia, we have run a business very well and customers are very happy with what we provide, so you might think we might be able to do the same," Espinosa added.

Unfortunately, more detailed information about the pickup is still not disclosed. Espinosa explained that the specifications must match the characteristics of the model.

However, it is possible that Nismo's version of this tough pickup has the same 3.5 liter twin-turbo engine as Patrol. The heart produces 317 kW of power and 700 Nm of torque.

Comments from Espinosa are in line with other statements made by other Nissan executives confirming Navara will be launched in 2026.

There is a potential that this new pickup will launch in several variants of powertrain, ranging from diesel and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) engines that combine gasoline and electric driving.
