Three Mercedes-Benz Electric Vehicles Are Confirmed To Participate In The 79th RI Anniversary Celebration At IKN

JAKARTA - Ahead of the celebration of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), PT Inchcape Indomobil Distribution Indonesia announced the handover of 16 Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles (EV) to the Presidential Secretariat office to support the event in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan.

Of this number, there are three Mercedes-Benz EQ models that are trusted as mobility in the celebration of August 17 at IKN, namely EQE Saloon, EQE SUV, and EQS Saloon.

President Director of Inchcase Automotive Indonesia, Khoo Shao Tze, said that Mercedes-Benz' participation in this event also encourages EV transformation in Indonesia as well as plays the role of manufacturers in terms of global electrification.

"The Mercedes-Benz participation in this event is more than just a celebration. This reflects our commitment to significantly encourage the transformation of electric vehicles in Indonesia," said Khoo Shao Tze in his official statement, Tuesday, August 13.

The delivery of the electric vehicle during the celebration of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day at IKN is a follow-up step for manufacturers from Germany in encouraging the acceleration of the transition to complete electrification in the country.

This well-known premium automotive brand has a number of electric vehicle (EV) models sold in Indonesia, consisting of EQA, EQB, EQE Saloon, EQE SUV, EQS Saloon and EQS SUV.

Mercedes-Benz EQE Saloon or 350+ is one of the vehicles to be used in celebrating the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. This car was chosen by offering comfort and producing zero emissions.

The sedan is given a high-voltage lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 90 kWh which can provide it with a range of up to 673 km according to WLTP calculations.

Then there is the EQE SUV which has dimension greater than the Saloon version. The newly launched car in Indonesia this year has the same battery as the sedan's twin, but with a range of 566 km in one charge.

Then, there is EQS Saloon which is one of the most expensive EV Mercedes-Benz in Indonesia. The model is given a large capacity lithium-ion battery of 107 kWh which can run 770 km in the WLTP cycle.

Speaking of price, these three cars are offered at a price below IDR 3 billion in the country. The EQE Saloon model is priced at IDR 2.3 billion, then the EQE SUV is worth IDR 2.85 billion, and the EQS Saloon is IDR 2.984 billion. All prices include DKI Jakarta Off The Road.
