Retail Consumer Focus, BYD Has Not Planned MPV Electricity M6 To Become A Taxi Fleet

JAKARTA - The name BYD in Indonesia has actually been familiar since the Chinese producer entered Indonesia in 2018 by entering the commercial segment, both buses and taxis.

From VOI's observation on Blue Bird's official website, BYD itself already has two models that become taxis, first there is E6 and secondly there is T3. So is there a chance for the MPV M6 model to become the next fleet?

Responding to this, the Head of Marketing & Communication of PT BYD Motor Indonesia Luther Panjaitan commented that currently there is no plan to go there (So the electric car Taxi).

"We do not say that business to business (b2b) will not, but for now it is not," he told the media crew, in Bandung, West Java, Thursday, August 8.

The man who is familiarly called Luther said that currently BYD is still focused on retail consumers, for that there are no plans to become a taxi fleet.

"Currently we are still focusing on retail consumers because we understand very well the process is also not fast," he added.

Furthermore, he said, BYD itself makes M6 retail consumers a priority, especially since there are quite a lot of orders currently received.

Indeed, reflecting on the GIIAS 2024 exhibition, this electric car, which has a range of more than 500 km, has become a new prima donna, where the order reaches more than 50 percent of the total orders for other BYD models.

"The demand is quite high, when GIIAS M6 reached more than 50 percent of BYD's total bookings during GIIAS, it was also not in the dealer network," he explained.
