JAKARTA - The national rally racer, Julian Johan (Jeje), will participate in the 2024 Asia Cross Contry Rally (AXCR) competition which will take place in Thailand-Malaysia in August together with the Jejelogy GHP Law Firm team.
In the competition, Jeje will bring the modified 200 Toyota Land Cruiser model to take the base from the 2010 Lexus LX570 and has seen a number of improvements compared to last year.
Despite using the same base as before, he mentioned there are a number of reasons why he and his team chose this car to be used in the annual rally competition in Asia-Pacific.
"Basic from Lexus LX570 is certainly cheaper than Land Cruiser 200, although that is not the reason why we chose Lexus. It's more because of the nature of the gasoline engine," Jeje said after the launch session at Pondok Indah, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 10.
He also admitted that buying the 2010 LX570 Lexus was at Rp750 million in a former state.
"At that time, I myself bought the car along with the prime team, Bonie Guide, this figure reached Rp. 750 million even though the price is now rising, but we bought the vehicle at that price," Jeje explained.

Furthermore, Jeje and his team also modified and developed the vehicle for more than half a year and could spend more than IDR 1.2 billion to build this car.
"After that, we modified it for 6-7 months plus an additional upgrade this year, including the engine could cost more than IDR 1.2 billion," added Jeje.
Different from last year, this modified Land Cruiser has increased its engine parts from 5,700 cc to 6,100 cc with higher output power than before.
At the 2024 AXCR event, Jeje will take part in the T1G class and is expected to enter the top 10 overall as an offering to celebrate the 79th Indonesian Independence Day on August 17 along with the last day of this event.
In addition, Jeje will be accompanied by two co-drivers, namely Recky Resanto from Indonesia and Chupong Chaiwan from Thailand who are experienced navigators in the competition.
