JAKARTA - Encourage the use of Battery-Based Electric Vehicles (KLBB), PLN Main Distribution Unit (UID) Jakarta Raya in collaboration with the private sector to add Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) in Jakarta.

This time, PLN is working with PT Listrik Anugerah Divina and PT Exelly Elektrik Indonesia (Voltron) to provide 5 SPKLU units at the PLN Pusat Blok M office and 1 SPKLU unit at Pantai Indah Kapuk.

Through this collaboration, PLN is committed to providing electricity supply and information and communication technology platforms at SPKLU, while the private sector provides SPKLU equipment as well as the operation and management of the SPKLU.

General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Lasiran said that PLN is very open to collaborating with the private sector and investors to jointly develop the electric vehicle ecosystem, especially the development of SPKLU in Jakarta.

"The SPKLU business is one of the promising businesses, we can see that currently the number of electric car users, especially in Jakarta, is increasing. With more electric vehicles, of course we will also continue to add SPKLU," said Lasiran, in his official statement, Wednesday, July 3.

The number of SPKLUs in Jakarta currently stands at 126 SPKLUs spread throughout Jakarta. Most of these SPKLUs are located in strategic locations, such as public parking lots, malls, terminals, stations, government offices, to rest areas.

"The SPKLU location is located in strategic places to make it easier for people to access and charge their electric vehicles," added Lasiran.

Based on data compiled by PLN UID Jakarta Raya, the use of SPKLU in Jakarta in the months of May 2024 increased by 147 percent compared to last year's May.

Electric Vehicle users can easily find out the locations of SPKLU by using the PLN Mobile application, the Electric Vehicle menu. Users can check the location of the nearest SPKLU from their location and charge electric cars, only through the PLN Mobile application.
