Volvo Records Sales Of Up To More Than 65,000 Units In April, EX30 Becomes One Of The Best Selling

JAKARTA - The auto brand from Sweden Volvo again achieved impressive results in April by recording sales of more than 65,000 vehicles.

The manufacturer reported selling 65,838 vehicles, an increase of 27 percent when compared to last year's score. This achievement is inseparable from the high demand for SUV and electric vehicles in the European market, one of which is EX30.

Thus, so far the company has managed to sell as many as 248,525 units for four months in 2024, an increase of 16 percent in the same period last year.

"I'm also happy to see the positive response from EX30 subscribers as we increase car shipments, as well as the growth of our sustainable electrification model," said Volvo Cars Chief Commercial Officer and Deputy CEO Bjorn Annwall, on the brand's official website, Tuesday, May 7.

The electrification segment experienced an increase of up to 53 percent and the vehicle consisting of EVs or PHEV contributed 48 percent of total sales in April. Meanwhile, a pure EV contributed 26 percent last month.

In Europe, 34,238 units of Volvo vehicles were sold in April, up 65 percent. The EX30 model became the best-selling product in the region.

Then, the United States (US) market managed to sell a total of 10,604 units, an increase of 10 percent in April. This achievement was followed by the rapid increase in sales of PHEV cars by 89 percent last month.

Meanwhile in China, Volvo managed to record sales of up to 12.221 vehicles. Unlike other regions, manufacturers recorded a decline of up to 3 percent with an electrification model successfully selling as many as 1.062 vehicles or a decrease of 16 percent.

During April 2024, Volvo XC60 became the resulting product with a total sales of 19,542 units, followed by XC40 with 15,139 units, and EX30 as the latest model with 9,730 units.
