Honda Cuts Prices For A Number Of Models In Australia, This Is The Cause

JAKARTA - Shocking news came from one of the automotive giants from Japan, Honda. For the Australian market, Honda announced that it had cut the price of its three best-selling SUVs, namely HR-V, CR-V, and ZR-V, but raised the price of Civic Type-R.

Reporting from Drive, Thursday, April 18, the Vi X variant HR-V model is now priced at USD 34,900 (IDR 364.3 million) or down USD 1,800 (IDR 18.7 million) and type e: HEV L which is pegged for USD 43,900 (IDR 458.3 million) or down USD 3,100 (32.3 million) from its standard price.

Then, the affordable version of CR-V, namely the VTi X type, is currently priced at 43,900 Australian dollars or equivalent to IDR 458.3 million, down 600 Australian dollars (IDR 6.2 million) from before.

Meanwhile, two affordable types of ZR-V, namely VTi X and VTi L, are now priced at 39,500 Australian dollars (Rp412.4 million) and 42,500 Australian dollars (Rp443.7 million). Each variant decreased by 700 Australian dollars (Rp7.3 million).

Recently, Australia made a profit from an increase in Civic Type-R stock and last year managed to sell more than other Civic types. Thus, the price from this hot hatch rose 1.000 Australian dollars (Rp10.4 million) to USD 73,600 (Rp768.4 million).

The price cuts followed sales of 13,734 Honda cars in Australia last year or the lowest during the manufacturer's exploration of Australia's market. In comparison, its sales in 2022 reached 14,215 vehicles.

For decades, Honda was among the top 10 sellers in the Kangaroo country. However, last year he took the 20th position overall.

For the first three months of 2024, this manufacturer with the 'H' logo obtained 4,683 units of unit delivery to customers, an increase of 18.9 percent compared to last year. If this trend continues until the end of the year, the company will book sales of around 16,300 cars.
