Kia Prints March's Record For Sale In The US, What's The Best-selling Model?

JAKARTA - The automotive brand from South Korea, Kia managed to record impressive results in its sales in the United States (US) during the first quarter of 2024 as well as the highest achievement in the history of the company with a total of 179,621 units.

This vehicle manufacturer posted sales of 69,472 units in March followed by increased sales of electrification by up to 9 percent in that period.

For the pure electric vehicle (EV) segment, the manufacturer pocketed a significant growth of 151 percent compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, utility car sales increased by 9 percent and accounted for 79 percent of the total.

Our growth in SUVs and the initial impact of the new and all-electric three-line EV9 helped provide Kia's second best first-quarter sales result, Kia Vice President, Sales Operations Kia America Eric Watson on the company's official website, Wednesday, April 3.

During March, Sportage was the model with the most sales by obtaining 15,211 units, followed by Forte reaching 13,417 units, and Telluride with 10,152 units.

Complementing the top five places as vehicles committed in March, there is a Sorento model with a total of 8,799 units and Seltos reaching 6,017 units.

For the EV segment, Kia EV6 managed to sell 1,537 units followed by EV9 sales with a total of 1,281 units.

This achievement also strengthens the company's position in providing vehicles with the most advanced technology. Previously, EV9 products won two awards at the 2024 World Car Awards, namely the World Car of the Year and the World Electric Vehicle.
