Nio And CATL Establish Cooperation To Develop Electric Car Battery With Age Using Longer

JAKARTA - Nio is a Chinese vehicle manufacturer headquartered in Shanghai, which specializes in designing and developing electric vehicles. In addition, Nio's large business also includes electric vehicle battery exchange stations.

Nio has just signed a collaboration with electric vehicle battery manufacturers in the world of CATL, related to innovation in research on the development of electric vehicle batteries so that the battery life is longer.

Quoting from the ArenaEV page, Friday, March 15, this collaboration will also be compatible with Nio battery exchange technology, which manufacturers continue to develop to provide convenience.

So far, Nio has managed to maintain 80 percent capacity after 12 years of use, but this is still not enough (age of battery), with this partnership expected to have a positive impact.

The two companies note that in China electric vehicle batteries generally have an eight-year warranty, meaning that from 2025 to 2032, the battery will run out for nearly 20 million electric vehicles, with this step expected to be the answer to the sustainability of electric vehicles.

"Therefore, overcoming the problem of battery life is a new task that must be done," said NIO CEO William Li, citing CNevpost.

The two companies will also make breakthroughs and technological innovations, as well as produce new battery products with a focus on the upcoming Nio vehicle model.
