JAKARTA - Volvo is known as an automotive brand that likes to launch cars with the number one safety system. In order to strengthen this commitment, they launched a new system to warn of accidents ahead.

Named Accident Ahead Alert, this system can alert drivers of accidents ahead using real-time data from the traffic management center. This feature will be available on Volvo cars in Europe, starting from Denmark.

"By using our innovative connected safety technology, this system can help Volvo drivers avoid unexpected surprises, as well as contribute to making highways safer for everyone," said Asa Haglun, head of Volvo Cars Safety Center, on the brand's official website, Friday, March 1.

With the aim of helping drivers avoid collisions and traffic jams due to accidents upfront, this feature is designed to provide an instant warning to drivers about traffic accidents up to a few hundred meters ahead.

Location data is provided by the compatible national road and Volvo car authorities. For some time to come, the manufacturer intends to integrate more traffic data shared by the European Data for Road Safety, including national traffic management centers in other countries.

To make the highway safer, Volvo also invites more authorities to share traffic accident data anonymously and encourage other automotive manufacturers to carry similar technologies.

For vehicle owners who have carried this system, simply activate it by using the "Connected Safety" option in the middle view, then this feature will turn on and alert the driver if there is an accident in front with a hazard light warning on the dashboard or head-up.
